about us

Heather Hauf and Patrick Nelson started working together in 2007 at the same veterinary hospital. They both have a passion for working with dogs and dog lovers.

Heather has been a licensed veterinary technician for 25 years and has been a manager for the last 6 years. She is married to her husband Jesse, and they have 4 dogs and 2 cats. In her spare time, Heather likes to be outdoors with her dogs, work on art projects, and spend time with friends and family.

Patrick has worn many hats in the veterinary industry, and he, too, has been in an adminisrtrative role. He is a SUNY Albany grad, likes to snowboard, go fishing, and other outdoor adventures in the capital region. He has a pitbull and a chunky bulldog along with 2 cats.

about heather & patrick

Muttz Dog Lounge's mission is to provide a clean and safe space for dogs and their owners to socialize, play and relax together. The Northeast region of the country experiences extreme weather conditions, which limits ideal outdoor weather to only a few months of the year. Due to the cold in winters and heat in summers, it can be difficult for dogs to get the exercise they need. When dogs don't get enough exercise, they often become bored and unsocial and can even have health issues stemming from being overweight. An indoor dog park open all year round and climate-controlled would be an ideal place for dogs to play, socialize, and exercise while allowing their owners to meet new people, work on their computers, attend fun events, and play with their dogs.
